The Technical Management Committee (TMM) has been actively engaging in developmental activities to enhance the capabilities of referees and table officials within its affiliate network. Here’s a summary of recent initiatives:
Referees Subcom Workshop in Jerantut, Pahang
On 20th – 21st April 2024, the Referees Subcom organized a Level 1 Referees workshop in Jerantut, Pahang. The event, hosted at Hill Resort with practical sessions held at Taman Intan Basketball Court, drew participation from 13 individuals. Despite the modest turnout, it marks a significant step forward for the affiliate, demonstrating a commitment to technical officials’ development. Notably, this initiative aligns with the broader objectives of the Malaysian Basketball Association (MABA), signaling a collaborative effort towards enhancing officiating standards.
Table Officials Clinic in Sibu, Sarawak
Concurrently, the Table Officials Subcom hosted a Level 1 Examination Clinic for the Sibu Basketball Association in Sarawak on 20th – 21st April 2024. With 32 participants representing various backgrounds, the clinic showcased a strong interest in the development of table officials. This enthusiastic response underscores the proactive approach taken by state affiliates, particularly in light of their role as hosts for SUKMA 2024. The synergy between affiliates and the MABA secretariat administration is yielding tangible results, with short-term and long-term plans meticulously crafted and overseen with guidance from Assistant Secretary-General Mr. Sunny San.
Acknowledgment is due to the President and Secretary-General for their invaluable support, enabling TMM to execute its roadmap and fulfill targeted activities within the designated term. These concerted efforts signify a commitment to fostering growth and excellence within Malaysia’s basketball officiating community.
