Agong Cup 2022 – Day 6 Result

8-time winners Malacca beat PDRM 75-70 in the men’s semi-finals to reach the championship game for the first time since 2017. They will take on defending champion Negeri Sembilan in a rematch of the final in 2017.

In the first semi-finals, Negeri Sembilan, who are vying for their 5th consecutive titles, cruised to a 97-73 victory over the 19-time champions Perak. In 2017 in Cyberjaya, Negeri Sembilan beat Malacca in the final for the second straight year to win back-to-back titles.

In the men’s 7/8 placing match, Yap Run Sam was on fire from behind the arc, knocking down 16 3-pointers to score a career-high 60 points, and Selangor thrashed MABA Selection 125-70 to finish 7th in the tournament.

In the 9/10 placing game, ATM beat Sabah 87-71 to finish 9th, while Sabah, who lost all their games in the tournament, finished last in the table.

There’s no upset in the women’s division, Selangor beat Negeri Sembilan 2 79-46, setting up the final showdown with the defending champions Negeri Sembilan, who thrashed Penang 98-29. On the other hand, Johor defeated Malacca and set to finish 3rd in this year’s tournament.
