Dato’ Yeoh’s leadership extended to the international stage, where he served as a FIBA Commissioner at four Olympic Games and numerous FIBA World Championships. His efforts to bring basketball to new heights were not just limited to administration. He was a driving force behind Malaysia’s national team, guiding them to a historic gold medal at the 1989 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur, and organizing significant international tournaments, such as the Women’s Basketball World Championship in Malaysia.

His outstanding achievements did not go unnoticed, earning him prestigious awards like the 1997 Best CEO Award from the USA Basketball Association and the 2001 John Wooden Lifetime Service Award. More recently, he was nominated for the FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame by MABA President Dato’ Seri Lee Tian Hock, a testament to his enduring legacy and invaluable contributions to the sport.

Dato’ Yeoh was more than just an administrator; he was a visionary leader, a mentor, and an inspiration to all who crossed paths with him. His tireless dedication to the growth of basketball is a legacy that will live on in the countless players, coaches, and fans he inspired throughout his life.
